TL;DR - Your Privacy is Protected: CommentCraft does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to external servers. All data stays on your device. We have no servers, no databases, and no tracking.
1. Introduction
CommentCraft ("we," "our," or "the extension") is a browser extension designed to help users generate AI-powered comment suggestions for Twitter/X and LinkedIn posts. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and protect your privacy.
Our Core Principle: We believe in privacy by design. CommentCraft operates entirely on your local device without collecting, storing, or transmitting your personal data to any external servers.
2. Data Collection

- Financial or payment information
- Location data or IP addresses
- Browsing history or web activity across websites
- Social media posts, comments, or messages
- User behavior analytics or tracking data
- Any data from Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or ChatGPT
2.2 What We Store Locally
The extension stores the following data locally on your device only using Chrome's storage API:
- User Preferences: Comment tone (Professional, Friendly, etc.), target audience, engagement goals
- Feature Settings: Auto-analyze posts toggle, show engagement scores toggle, daily comment goal number
- Progress Tracking: Daily comment count, engagement streak (stored locally for your dashboard)
Important: This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.

- Remember settings: Maintain your preferences across browser sessions
- Track progress: Show you your daily comment count and engagement streak in the dashboard
- Improve experience: Enable/disable features based on your settings
All processing happens locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers for analysis, storage, or any other purpose.
5. Third-Party Services

CommentCraft opens ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) in a new browser tab with a pre-filled prompt. Important notes:
- We do NOT send data to ChatGPT via API
- We do NOT have access to your ChatGPT account or conversations
- The prompt is visible to you before being sent to ChatGPT
- Your interaction with ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI's privacy policy, not ours
- You maintain full control over what is sent to ChatGPT
5.2 Social Media Platforms
CommentCraft operates on Twitter/X and LinkedIn but:
- Does NOT collect your social media data
- Does NOT access your account credentials
- Does NOT post on your behalf
